KARACHI: Young man commits suicide

KARACHI, April 14: A young man committed suicide in the city on Monday.

The police said Rashid Minhas Cheema, aged 21, hanged himself in his house in Kausar Niazi Colony, North Nazimabad. He was mentally sick.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

ACCIDENTS: A teenage boy died when his car overturned near Punjab Colony late Sunday night.

The car hit against an electric pole and ran on to a pavement near Punjab Colony. Mukesh, aged 16, who was driving the car died on the spot.

The body was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post- mortem.

An unidentified man died in a hit-and-run accident in Gulzar-i-Hijri.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.

DIES OF ASPHYXIATION: A young man died when he inhaled a poisonous gas while cleaning a water tank at Imambargah Ali Raza in M. A. Jinnah Road.

The police said Mehmood Ali, aged 28, was cleaning an under-ground water storage facility when he fell unconscious. He was rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

FOUND DEAD: The body of a young man was recovered near the Christian Cemetery late Sunday night.

The police said the body was found near a garbage dump and the dead man had been identified was Jamshed Lal Bhatti.

The body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.

DIE OF BURNS: Three persons died of burns in the city.

A welder, Zamir Husain, aged 35, had suffered 75 per cent burns while working on Feb 17. He was admitted to the burns ward at Civil Hospital where he died.

A 42-year-old housewife had suffered burns when a gas stove burst in her house in Sharafi Goth on March 30. She was admitted to Civil Hospital where she died.

A boy who had suffered burns on April 12 in his house in New Karachi died at Civil Hospital.
