PPP appeals for order in Iraq

Published April 14, 2003

ISLAMABAD, April 13: Pakistan People’s Party has called upon the allied forces to restore calm and order in the essential services in Iraq as soon as possible.

In a statement on Sunday, the central information secretary, PPP, Taj Haider said that the people of Pakistan were shocked and concerned over the looting of the Baghdad Museum.

He said there was also concern for the hospital where doctors and nurses worked tirelessly in the most difficult circumstances. Conditions had worsened by the looting spree.

Mr Haider said appreciating that it was difficult for the allied forces to protect every building, the party hoped that the essential buildings would be identified and safeguarded.
