PESHAWAR, April 12: The NWFP government has asked the administration of the three big hospitals in the city to make sure the presence of specialists doctors and arrangements for life saving drugs in emergency units.
The directive was decided at a high-level meeting held here on Saturday, presided over by provincial health minister Inayat Ullah Khan, says a handout.
Mr Khan stressed the heads of the three teaching hospitals to make sure presence of specialist doctors and availability of life saving drugs at the emergency units. He asked them to provide better facilities to the patients at emergency units.
Mr Khan said that the MMA government was committed to providing better health facilities to the masses as it is imperative according to the teaching of Islam.
The government wanted to make revolutionary changes in the health sector for the better health facilities to general public, he said and added that the government would also provide more facilities to the basic health units in far-flung areas.
The others who attended meeting were Secretary Health Dr Ihsanul Haq, MS Lady Reading Hospital Dr Jalil-ur-Rehman, DMS Casualty Unit of LRH Dr Janbaz Afridi, Chief Executive of Khyber Teaching Hospital Dr Zahir Shah and MS Hayatabad Medical Complex Dr Javed Saleem Gandapur.
