KABUL, April 11: An earthquake rocked a remote province of northern Afghanistan on Thursday night, causing some casualties and destroying 200 houses.
The quake struck the village of Yakabagh, in Takhar province, which borders Tajikistan.
Kabul radio quoted a local source as saying villagers were without shelter and needed urgent assistance from the government and international organizations working in Afghanistan. —Reuters
