Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, April 10: President Gen Pervez Musharraf’s visit to the city caused a traffic jams on all roads leading to the Governor’s House here on Thursday.

The police had closed all roads which abutted on the Fort Road and Sher Shah Suri Road running along the Governor’s House, where the president is staying.

The police diverted all vehicular traffic on Railway Road and Khyber Road which clogged the Suri Bridge crossing, Shoba Chowk and various inter-junctions on G. T. Road and Saddar.

Even ambulances were not allowed to go towards the Lady Reading Hospital.

The president is here for a two-day visit. He would visit Khyber Rifles headquarters on Friday.
