Four goals apiece for Ahmad and Khan

LAHORE, April 8: Four goals each by Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana and Dr I.A. Khan helped Tri Star beat Ravi Autos 9-5 1/2 in the opening match of the Guard Filters polo tournament on Tuesday.

Ravi by virtue of a 1/2 goal handicap led 2 1/2-2 in the first chukker. Ahmad put Tri Star ahead by converting a 40 penalty hit.

Haris and Capt Malik again brought Ravi Autos in front 2 1/2-1.

Ahmad struck again with his second goal also a 40 yard penalty-hit.

Therafter the winners dominated the match gaining 4- 3 1/2 lead in the second chukker.

Raja Sattar banged home a field goal followed by the first goal from I.A. Khan. Sufi M Amir, however, converted a spot penalty near the goalpost for Ravi Autos to reduce the margin.

The third chukker was controlled by I.A. Khan to lead Tri Star 7-4 1/2. I.A. Khan scored two more goals while Ahmad scored his third. For Ravi Autos Kamran Nooruddin contributed a goal to trim down the lead.

Ahmad and I.A. Khan struck their fourth goal each in the last chukker while Sufi Amir banged home his second goal for the losers but only to lose the match by a lesser margin.
