BAHAWALPUR, April 4: Wrong internal and external policies of the government have led to the country’s isolation in the comity of nations particularly Muslim countries.
These views were expressed by PML-N acting president Makhdum Javed Hashmi and other central leaders while speaking to a public gathering at Head Rajkan, some 40kms from here on Thursday night.
The speakers included central secretary-general Saranjam Khan, chief coordinator Ahsan Iqbal, Punjab president Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa and others. On this occasion, former Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Chaudhry Saood Majeed announced joining the PML-N.
The PML leaders said that interference of the FBI in our internal affairs was against the solidarity and integrity of our country.
Referring to the recent sanctions on the KRL, they said the US could not be our friend because US forces were conducting exercises with the Indian army.
HUNGER STRIKE: Local contractors observed a token hunger strike on Friday against the alleged corruption of the district officer (roads), Abdul Wasey.
Contractors Association President Syed Sajid Ali Shah told newsmen that contractors were constrained to struck work due to the ‘demands’ of the district officer.
He alleged that owing to alleged excesses, including high rates of commission, the construction work on projects was suspended and contractors had boycotted the tenders.
He demanded that the District Officer (Roads) should be transferred so that work on the pending projects could be resumed.
