CDA amends auction plan

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, April 4: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has made changes in its plots auction plan to facilitate private builders, official sources told Dawn.

The sources said several private construction companies had requested the CDA to exclude some plots from the plan, which were to be auctioned for construction of flats. If the authority auctions these plots, it would affect the business of private construction firms, they added.

“The CDA would be deprived of millions of rupees, which could have been generated by auctioning these plots.”

The sources said the auction was to be held last month but on the request of private builders, now it would be held at the Fire Brigade Building on April 14.

A CDA official dealing with the auction, when contacted, agreed that as many as seven commercial plots had been excluded from the auction plan, however a same number of plots of other categories had been included.
