NEW DELHI, April 3: Rahul Dravid, with a purse of Rs 92,40,000 tops the list of payment released to twenty-seven Indian cricketers who have represented tour to New Zealand, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Honorary Treasurer Kishore Rungta said.
He said BCCI has released a total amount of Rs 12,08,39,992 to Indian cricketers, which includes the logo money, match fees, prize money and bonus declared for the Netwest series.
Replying to a question, Rungta said it was incorrect as reported by a section of media that outstanding amount was to the tune of rupees 55 crores.
He also clarified that payment from sponsors are in the process of being received, but BCCI is taking the initiative of making payment as opposed to the normal practice of making it only on receipt from the sponsors.
BCCI has a claim of rupees 5.5 crore to be received from TWI-the matter being under litigation while Sahara would be pay rupees ten crores by second week of this month.
BCCI Treasurer said the cheques to the cricketers have been despatched.
According to list of payments, Virender Sehwag is on second spot with a payment of Rs 92,20,000 followed by skipper Saurav Ganguly, who will be richer by Rs 87,80,000. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will get Rs 73,40,000.
Sharanjeet Singh, R.S.Sodhi and R.Bala Ji will get lowest amount, each of them getting Rs 3,90,000.—PPI
