PML-N calls for review of foreign policy

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, April 3: Taking exception to the Indian threat of launching pre-emptive attack on Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) on Thursday said India would have to face a united Pakistani nation equipped with nuclear warheads.

“The Indian leadership must keep in mind that even in exile Nawaz Sharif will prove to be a force for his nation to thwart the Indian aggression,” PML-N Central Information Secretary Siddiqul Farooque said in a statement issued here.

Had Nawaz Sharif been the prime minister in this hour of trial, India would not have dared threaten Pakistan, he added. He said the government’s failed foreign policy and its oblivious approach towards the country’s integrity had encouraged the Indian leadership to threaten Pakistan with pre-emptive attack.

Stressing the need for reorientation of the foreign policy, the PML leader asked the government to stop toeing the US policies. He termed the United States, Israel and India as the real “axis of evil” which had unleashed an unprecedented genocide in Iraq, Palestine and Kashmir. He said a strong home-made foreign policy was need of the hour to defend the geographical and ideological frontiers of Pakistan.
