BADIN, April 3: Two people were killed and 24 others were injured when a car collided with two bullock-carts on the Badin-Karachi Highway near Fatehabad, some 12 kilometres off here, on Wednesday night.

Some families of the Jatt tribe were returning their homes in bullock-carts after attending a marriage party in the Abdullah village when two of the carts were hit by the Badin-bound speedy car.

Ali Nawaz and Ms Sukhan were killed in the accident. Aslam, 8, Imdad, 9, Usman, 7, Sikandar, 4, Budho, 6, Bachal, 5, Niaz 8, Aziz, 10, Munawar, 3, Mithan, 3, Mohammad Ali 5, Ms Sohbat, Ms Jam, Ms Gori, Ms Ijat, Allahdino and Imdad were among the injured.

The injured were taken to the Badin Civil Hospital from where 10 persons were referred to a Hyderabad hospital because of their critical condition.

ARREST DEMANDED: The representatives of one of the rival groups of the disciples of Dargah Lowari, speaking at a press conference here has criticized the police for failing to arrest two accused in the murder case of Ali Mardan Chandio.
