KARACHI, April 2: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan on Wednesday said that the city government had fulfilled another one of its promises by providing the facility of Sui gas to the inhabitants of Yousuf Goth, Gadap Town.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the project, he said the city government did not hold open Kutchehries only to hear public problems, rather it held open Kutchehries to redress the same.

He said that those who accused nazims of extortion should present evidences so that action could be taken. He protested against prevention of tenders of towns, and said that no one had the authority to do so.

He asked the Gadap Town nazim to bring tenders to him saying he would extend all possible assistance.

He demanded of the Sindh governor to constitute a committee headed by judges of the High Court to probe into corruption and undue interference.

“Proofs of allegation of corruption against us should be presented, and we would present proofs of interference by provincial ministers in the affairs of city government,” he said.

The city Nazim also visited the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. He was accompanied by DCO Mir Hussain Ali, EDO finance Iqbal Hassan Zaidi, EDO Health Ali Nawaz Sheikh.

He directed the concerned officials to redress the problems facing the hospital without any delay.—PPI
