KARACHI, April 2: Chief Secretary Mr K. B. Rind has asked transport secretary to review the public demand of reduction in fares in view of recent cut in petroleum prices.
Mr Rind issued the directives during his meetings with a delegation in his office.
The delegation, representing commuters and headed by Ismail Rajput and Mudassar Aslam, drew the attention of the CS to the problem that the transporters resorted to raise the fares after a nominal increase in petroleum prices but never reduced the fares even when fuel prices declined drastically.
The delegation also called for action against trespassing by males into the female compartments of buses.—PPI
