PESHAWAR, March 24: Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) would seek services of private sector to recover its arrears.

In response to this initiative interested parties have started submitting applications to win contracts.

A Pesco press release said it would involve private firms and companies to recover arrears from defaulters on commission basis, offering them certain rate of percentage.

Pesco has to recover Rs1.454 billion including Rs251 million from the Peshawar circle, Rs242 million from the Khyber circle, Rs358 million from Mardan circle, Rs263 million from Hazara circle, Rs63 million from Swat circle and Rs276 million from Bannu circle.

Applications for the grant of contracts would be accepted till April 1, 2003, the press release concluded.
