Booked for corruption

GUJRANWALA, March 23: The agriculture department’s chief engineer and head cashier were booked by the anti-corruption establishment on charges of corruption here on Sunday.

According to sources, Chief Engineer Bashir Ahmad Gondal and Head Cashier Usman Butt had allegedly embezzled Rs2.2 million.

On receiving the complaint, the highups got an inquiry conducted against the two officials and referred the case to the anti-corruption establishment on finding them guilty of the alleged offence.

Anti-corruption officials are making raids for arresting the two officers.
