PML-N condemns invasion of Iraq

PESHAWAR, March 23: Pak-istan Muslim League (Nawaz) condemning the US invasion has asked the UN to help halt the strikes against innocent people of Iraq, said a press release on Sunday.

The release quoting PML-N MPA, Anwar Kamal Khan Mar-wat, said that the US action was aimed at grabbing Iraqi oil re-sources.

Mr Marwat said that the invasion was unjustified because UN weapon inspectors had clearly said that Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction.

He expressed surprise over the silence of rulers of Muslim countries and said that Muslims all over the world were worried about the bloodshed in Iraq.

The PML-N leader said that Pakistan government should ask the US to stop the air strikes.

The US was violating human rights by bombing innocent people of Iraq, he said and added that his party would organize anti-US rallies to pressurize the government to condemn the US invasion.—Correspondent
