It’s up to Iraq to avoid war, says Baradei

VIENNA, March 11: War in Iraq is not inevitable but “the ball is very much in Iraq’s court” to prove that it does not have weapons of mass destruction, the head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog, Mohamed ElBaradei said here on Tuesday.

“I say war is not inevitable, but the ball is very much in Iraq’s court to prove to the international community that it does not have weapons of mass destruction, particularly chemical and biological weapons,” the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency said.

“We are waiting for our marching order from our colleagues in New York,” he said.—AFP
