KARACHI, March 8: The participants of a workshop were told about techniques of head and neck surgery by foreign experts on Friday.

The three-day programme was organized by the Head and Neck Oncology Society of Pakistan.

On the first day, among others, Dr Sultan Pardhan, a surgeon from India, shared his experiences of more than 300 cases of near total laryngectomy with the participants.

He demonstrated techniques of partial laryngeal surgeries on a cadaver. The president of the conference, Dr Iftikhar Salahuddin, secretary Dr Abbas Zafar, chairman scientific committee Dr Sohail Awan and Dr Shahzad Ghaffar also spoke.

In the second session, Dr Mumtaz Ahmad Khan from the US and Dr Tahir Sharif from Pakistan spoke on different techniques of head and neck reconstruction.
