SUKKUR: Environmental education discussed

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR March 8: A seminar was organized on Friday on the importance of environmental education by the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency, Sukkur, in collaboration with the Engro Chemicals and the Government Degree Science College, Gambat.

Speaking on the occasion, the district Nazim of Khairpur, Nafisa Shah, dilated upon various air pollutants like vehicular and industrial emissions besides highlighting the impact of chloro-flouro-carbons (CFCs), blamed for the global warming effect.

She said that overpopulation was the root cause of the pollution.

The district Nazim, while stressing upon the need for creating awareness against excessive use of agricultural chemicals and pesticides, said that these chemicals were causing a decrease in the soil fertility.

Prof Noor Mohammed Bhatti also spoke on the occasion.
