KARACHI, March 5: Three young men died in separate traffic accidents in different parts of the city on Wednesday.

Police said an 18-year-old boy, identified as Imran, was riding his motorcycle (KAD-818) when a speeding water tanker knocked him down in Korangi No 6. The boy died on the spot. His body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for postmortem.

Police claimed to have arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle.

In another accident, a young boy was knocked down by a speeding passenger coach in Qasba Colony late Tuesday night.

Police said that Naimat Zaman, aged 13, was crossing the road when the Safari Coach hit him. The injured was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The coach driver escaped.

An unidentified man died in another traffic accident in Site on Wednesday. Tahir Mahmood, the driver of a tanker (LSA-3606), aged 30, suffered fatal injuries when his vehicle overturned near Haroonabad. He was taken to the Civil Hospital where he died during treatment.

They were identified as Ashar Siraj, Mohammad Farooq and Kashif. The police were busy in verifying the status of the car (AB-9314).

A spokesman for the fire department said that five fire-tenders extinguished the blaze in the godown of Rubina
