THATTA, March 5: The people of Daro and Mirpur Bathoro towns took out processions and observed partial strike on Wednesday to protest against unscheduled power breakdowns in Mirpur Bathoro taluka for the last one month.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans against Hesco authorities, the protesters after marching through the main thoroughfares of the towns held public meetings.

KILLED: Three cattle traders were killed and eight were injured when a Karachi-bound truck, carrying goats, collided head-on with a trailer on the National Highway here on Tuesday.

Those killed were identified as Ali Nawaz, Qaim Ali and Ibrahim, all belonging to the Kaloi tribe.

LOOTED: Four armed men robbed a union council Nazim and his friend of Rs112,000 in cash, gold rings and other valuables near Dar Malook Shah here on Wednesday.

The armed men intercepted the car of the Nazim of Bulri union council, Ghulam Hussain Magsi, on the Daro-Mirpur Bathoro Road and looted them.

MAN KILLED: Khamiso, driver of the former executive engineer, Public Health Engineering Department, Thatta, Nafees Shaikh, was found dead at the main gate of his bungalow.
