About 70,000 children to be given anti-polio drops

By Our Correspondent

GUJAR KHAN, March 3: About 70,000 children of under five years of age will be administered anti-polio vaccines in the three-day campaign starting here from Tuesday.

Sources said that the local health authorities had finalized all arrangements for the three-day anti-polio campaign.

Syed Ladley Hassan, the deputy district health officer, Gujar Khan, who is also the tehsil supervisor of the drive, told Dawn that Gujar Khan Tehsil had been divided into five zones and 33 areas. He said 212 vaccination teams had been constituted to give polio drops to children. He said local councillors, Nazims and Naib Nazims would also be involved in the campaign. He claimed that all katchi abadis and children travelling on buses and private vehicles would also be covered through the special teams during the three-day drive.
