KARACHI: Appeal for harmony

KARACHI, March 2: Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar has called upon the religious leaders to play their role for the elimination sectarianism and religious hatred.

Presiding over a meeting at the CM House here on Sunday to review arrangements made to ensure peace and harmony during the month of Muharram, he reminded ulema that it was their religious and moral obligation to make concerted efforts aimed at foiling the nefarious designs of forces hostile to the peace and harmony in the province.

The CM made it clear to police and other law-enforcement agencies to maintain law and order at all costs and to accomplish this objective. He appealed to the religious leaders not to make provocative speeches that could hurt others.—PPI
