RAWALPINDI, Feb 27: The civil judge, Ambreen Qureshi, on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants of two women police officials for failing to comply with court orders.

The court issued warrants for the arrest of Shamshad Ashraf and Tasneem — the station house officer (SHO) and sub-inspector (SI) of the Women Police Station, respectively — for failing to appear before court to inform the judge about the development in a criminal case. The court had, earlier, issued show-cause notices to both the officials in this regard.

Meanwhile, the additional district and sessions judge, Sanaullah Malik, directed the district accounts officer (DAO) to withhold the salary of two policemen of Pirwadhai police station for not appearing in the court to record their statements in a narcotics case.

The court also issued arrest warrants of both the head constables, Mohammad Asghar and Mohammad Iqbal.

Similarly, the same court issued warrant for the arrest of head constable of Ganjmandi police station, Sikandar Khan, for failing to appear before court. It also directed him to submit surety bond worth Rs10,000 in the court.

The judge of family court, Saima Zahoor, directed the director general (DG) of the Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Sciences and Technology to withhold the salary and other related facilities of one of his employees, Ikram, who failed to pay the decreed amount of dower and maintenance money to his ex-wife, Shama.

The same court also asked the SSP, Rawalpindi, to withhold the salary of the SI of special branch, Mohammad Yasin, who was not paying the maintenance decreed amount of Rs140,000 to his ex- wife, Kulsoom. It also asked the SSP to present the progress report soon.
