KARACHI, Feb 27: A suspect was shot dead and a policeman was injured in an alleged exchange of fire between the police and suspects in Kalri on Thursday.

The police said two policemen on duty stopped two suspects near Mauripur Road. During physical search of the suspects, one of them opened fire on policeman Gul Feroz hitting him in the shoulder.

The other policeman returned the fire killing one of the suspects, Abdul Latif, on the spot. Latif’s accomplice escaped.

KILLED: An unidentified young woman was found murdered in Gulshan-i-Jamal late Wednesday night.

The police said the woman was killed some time late Wednesday night.

The police said that trussed-up body of a woman, who was in her late 20s, was found in a lawn outside a house in Gulshan-i-Jamal late Wednesday night. The body was wrapped in a white blanket.

The police said an anonymous man informed them by telephone about the body. The body was sent to the JPMC.
