Eidul Azha today

ISLAMABAD, Feb 11: The nation will celebrate Eidul Azha with religious fervour and enthusiasm across the country and Azad Kashmir on Wednesday.

The day will dawn with special prayers at mosques to invoke the blessings of Allah Almighty and seek mercy for sins. The faithful will offer Eid prayers at all big mosques, Eidgahs and open places in the morning.

Ulema and scholars will highlight the significance of the day in their sermons and pay homage to Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) who, acting on the command of Almighty Allah, sacrificed his beloved son, Hazrat Ismail (AS). They will also urge the people not to forget the poor and needy on the day of festivity.

Special prayers will be offered for the glory of Islam, well-being of the Muslim Umma, prosperity of the country and for the liberation of all Muslim occupied territories including Kashmir and Palestine.

Following the Eid prayers, the faithful will exchange greetings and sacrifice their animals.

In Islamabad, the biggest Eid congregation will be held at the Faisal Mosque where Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan will offer his prayers along with a large number of faithful.

Pakistan Television and Radio Pakistan will also broadcast special informative and entertainment programme on the day while newspapers will bring out special supplements.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, people continued their shopping of sacrificial animals.

A special bazaar set up in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in this regard was the main attraction of animal buyers.—APP
