LAHORE, Feb 11: Two people were murdered in different parts of the city on Tuesday.

Police said Liaquat, 40, a labourer by profession, was a frequent visitor to the house of his neighbour Abbas in the Factory Area.

Abbas suspected him of having relations with his wife and threatened him with dire consequences.

On Tuesday, learning about Liaquat’s visit to his house, Abbas opened fire on him. The injured was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The body was sent to the city mortuary.

A case was registered against the accused with no arrest.

Faqir Husain, 18, was stabbed to death over an old enmity in Burki.

Police said Faqir was on his way home when Bhola, along with his two accomplices, attacked him with knives. Faqir sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said Faqir’s brother Jehangir had killed Bhola’s uncle a couple of weeks ago.
