NEW YORK, Feb 8: Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri met Dr Henry Kissinger, a former US secretary of state.
They discussed Pakistan and US relations, peace and security in South Asia and situation in the Indian occupied Kashmir.
Mr Kasuri briefed Dr Kissinger about Pakistan’s invitation to the Indian prime minister to attend the Saarc Summit in Islamabad, which could not be materialized due to India’s unhelpful attitude.
The foreign minister underlined the importance of US to remain engage in South Asia and to give an institutional underpinning to the relationship.—APP
