KARACHI: Seven robberies in city

KARACHI, Feb 8: Seven robberies and one theft were committed in the city on Saturday, the police said.

Bandits barged into Mohammad Irfan’s house in New Karachi and robbed him of cash and jewellery. When Irfan put up resistance to the bandits, they shot and wounded him.

Four dacoits entered Sajjad Haiders house in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, held the family hostage at gunpoint and got away with cash, jewellery and other valuables.

Three robbers entered Gulf Autos in Joharabad police limits and robbed Rafiq Ahmed, the shopowner, of Rs15,000 and two mobile phones.

Kamran Aziz reported at Mauripur police station that motor spare parts were stolen from his shop.

Two bandits entered a shop owned by Abdul Karim in Arambagh area and robbed him of Rs14,000 at gunpoint.

Four robbers barged into Qamarul Hasan’s house in Model Colony, held the family hostage at gunpoint and looted Rs60,000, jewellery and other valuables. After this they entered the nextdoor house of Akhtar Habib. There too the bandits made the family hostage at gunpoint and looted cash, jewellery and other valuables.

In Ferozabad, bandits barged into Pervez Ahmed’s house and got away with cash, jewellery and other valuables.
