EC rejects appeals

QUETTA, Feb 7: The Election Commission member, Justice Ahmed Khan Lashari, has rejected the appeals of two candidates, former senator Anwar Khan Durrani of JWP and Bibi Zahida of MMA, on Thursday.

However, Justice Lashari accepted the plea of six candidates against the rejection of their nomination papers by the returning officer. They include Mir Wali Mohammad Badeni of PML-Q, Agha Mohammad and Dr Azizullah Satakzai of the MMA and three independent candidates Mir Sher Ali Mazari, Dr Sardar Mohammad Hussian and Agha Faisal.—Staff Correspondent
