PESHAWAR, Feb 5: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has said that Jihad is the only way to rid Kashmiris of Indian occupation as negotiations and the UN resolutions have failed to give them the right to self-determination.
The MMA organized a rally on the Kashmir Solidarity Day, which was taken out on Wednesday from Muhabat Khan Mosque and culminated at Kabuli Chowk with participants chanting anti-US and anti-India.
Jamaat-i-Islami deputy chief Liaqat Baloch, Professor Mohammed Ibrahim, JUI leader Mufti Kafaitullah, Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqani, Shabir Ahmad Khan and others spoke to the participants at the Qisa Khwani Bazaar.
A resolution was passed, which said: “The lingering Kashmir issue could not be resolved through negotiations or UN resolutions and Jihad (holy war) was the only option to finish decades long Indian occupation from the occupied Kashmir.”
The rally also demanded of the government to lift ban from Jihadi organizations and allow people to cross the Line of Control and let them fight along with the Kashmiris against Indian forces.
The rally demanded that the UN should play its due role and take notice of the Indian atrocities.
Despite official ban the JI and Hizbul Mujahideen had set up donation camp at Khyber Bazaar and distributed pamphlets, carrying Jihadi messages.
Liaqat Baloch said that the UN and the international community had failed to stop India from atrocities. He said that more than 80,000 Kashmiri Muslims have been killed.
He said that imperialist forces were pressurizing Islamabad to withdraw support from the Kashmiri people and forced the government to strike a deal on the core issue. He, however, warned that the Pakistani nation was not ready to accept any deal on Kashmir.
Mr Baloch said that Muslims were passing through a critical juncture across the world. America and England were determined to occupy Iraq, Israeli forces had begun genocidal attacks on the Palestinians, Russia was engaged in crushing the Chechen freedom movement and the state agencies were targeting Muslims in Europe and the US.
He asked the UN and Security Council members to force India to withdraw its forces from Kashmir and give the right to self- determination to Kashmiris.
PML-N: NWFP PML (Nawaz) president Pir Sabir Shah has praised the struggle of Kashmiris people for attaining the right to self-determination and has hoped that the day was not far off when their true struggle would bear fruit.
Addressing a gathering of party workers on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day on Wednesday, he slammed the atrocities unleashed against the unarmed and innocent Kashmiris by the Indian occupation forces. He condemned the US for not taking notice of the human right violation in the Kashmir and alleged that the US was siding with the India instead of supporting the just struggle of the Kashmiri people.
MANSEHRA: The workers and leaders of the MMA staged a rally to express solidarity with Kashmiri freedom fighters.
A big procession led by Mansehra MMA chief Maulana Qazi Rafiqueur Rehman Qamar was taken out from the Markazi Jamia Masjid on Abbottabad Road. Activists of the religious coalition marched through bazaars, chanting slogans against Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister L. K. Advani.
Later, the procession turned into a public meeting at Zaffar Park on Kashmir Road, where MMA local leaders speaking to the participants condemned the brutalities being committed against the innocent Kashmiris by Indian forces. They accused Indian government of state terrorism in the occupied Kashmir and ethnic cleansing of Muslims in the held Valley and elsewhere in India.
TIMERGARA: A walk was held to commemorate the Kashmir Solidarity Day on Wednesday.
The participants of the walk started from the Ahyaul Uloom Madressah in Balambat and after passing through the main bazaar, held a public meeting near the bus stand.
They were carrying placards and banners inscribed with anti-India slogans and were calling for plebiscite in the Indian-held Kashmir according to the UN resolutions.
The speakers condemned the Indian occupation forces and criticized the world powers for playing silent spectators in the dispute threatening the peace and stability of the region.
Besides a large number of people, the walk was also participated by Lower Dir district Nazim Alamzeb Khan, Naib Nazim, Haji Rasool Khan, MNA, Maulana Ahmad Ghafoor Ghawas, MPA, Muzafar Said, and the DCO, Hazrat Masood Mian.
HANGU: Component parties of the MMA took out a rally to express solidarity with Kashmiris in their just struggle for self-determination.
Speaking at the rally, MMA leaders, including Zarnoor Afridi, Ikram Rahi, Fida Saadi and Sajjad Ahmad Kashmiri, said that so far over 80,000 Kashmiri people had sacrificed their lives in the struggle against Indian occupation.
The Indian occupation forces had let loose a reign of terror and were perpetuating atrocities on the freedom fighters in order to stop their liberation movement.
The speakers also condemned the United Nations for its failure to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
They warned the United States against any aggression against Iraq under the garb of disarming Saddam Hussein, saying any such attack would strengthen anti-American sentiments throughout the world.
