ISLAMABAD, Feb 1: A two-member delegation of Jordan is arriving on Sunday to conclude a draft agreement on avoidance of double taxation with Pakistan in respect of income between the two countries.

A senior official told Dawn on Saturday that the delegation would start deliberation with the senior income tax officials at Central Board of Revenue (CBR) from Monday.

The official said that both sides have already developed consensus on most of the provisions of the proposed agreement. The remaining one or two major issue would be resolved during the meeting, the official said.

Pakistan and Jordan had initiated the proposal to have a double taxation treaty between the two countries to facilitate the traders of the two countries. The two countries have already had a first round of negotiation on the issue in Jordan in the recent past.

The treaty mainly aimed at taxation of operations of national airlines/aircraft of both countries on international routes as well as destinations within the contracting states and other businesses.
