KARACHI: Problems of Site Discussed

KARACHI, Jan 28: Sindh chief secretary K. B. Rind on Tuesday directed the district coordination officer Karachi to arrange a meeting with the Sindh Industrial and Trade Estate Limited and the SITE Association to find out a solution to their problems.

This was stated by the chief secretary in his meeting with a delegation, headed by the chairman of SITE Association, Haroon Farooqi.

The chief secretary was informed that in view of water requirement of industries, 15 hydrants had been established in SITE area under sub-soil scheme while five more were being planned, for which the cooperation of the city district government was required.

He was informed that in the limits of SITE, two million gallon water per day is required from the KW&SB.

SITE Limited’s MD said a sewerage treatment plant was being set up at SITE with the assistance of an Australian company which can provide 12 to 18 mgd per day with the help of defunct KMC’s treatment plant and the treatment plant would start working in March this year.—PPI
