Cop injured in attack on mobile

HANGU, Jan 26: A police patrol came under fire from four alleged proclaimed offenders (POs), injuring a policeman, near Munjikhel area on Saturday night.

Sources said a police mobile team was patrolling the Munjikhel area when four alleged POs opened fire on them, injuring sepoy Hakim Shah critically. The POs fled taking advantage of darkness.

The police have registered a case against Rehmat and Majeed.

ARRESTED: The Hangu police have arrested two proclaimed offenders and 22 other outlaws and seized a large quantity of weapons during the operation against criminals.

Official sources said here on Sunday that during the last six days, the police arrested two POs and 22 other outlaws and seized a Kalashnikov, three rifles, six 30 bore pistols and a small quantity of hashish and heroin.

KILLED: A decomposed body of one Ashraf was found in Totikhel mountains. About 23 days back, Ashraf went out of his home situated in Shahu area and on Saturday his body was found in Totikhel mountains.

PROTEST: The residents of Bazokot area, Thal, blocked the highway for three hours as a mark of protest against the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) for not repairing a transformer.

The residents alleged that Wapda was demanding Rs20,000 for the repair of the transformer, which went out of order some days back.
