ISLAMABAD, Jan 26: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reduced the number of plots proposed in the development plan of sectors I-14 and I-16.

Over 200 plots and seven sites, which were specified for the construction of flats, have been removed from the plan, said a report.

The report said the authority would have to suffer a huge loss due to flaws in planning and development work.

The report further said the authority was facing problems in the construction of roads and streets due to improper levelling of ground in these sectors.

The CDA chairman has, however, formed a committee, headed by the deputy director-general works, to resolve the problems for the early development of the sectors.

Meanwhile, work on ground levelling, roads construction and drainage system has been started in sector I-14. Similarly, water supply, drainage and sewerage systems are being established in sector I-16.

A source said Rs162 million has been allocated for the development of sector I-16 and Rs88.359 million for sector I-14.

He said out of total allocation for sector I-16, Rs60 million would be utilised for roads construction, Rs64 million for water supply system, Rs36 million for sewerage system and Rs2 million for the construction of a retaining wall.

In sector I-14, Rs60 million would be spent on roads construction, Rs23.359 million on sewerage system and Rs5 million on water supply system.

The PC-I of both the sectors was approved in 1994-95 but the projects could not be commissioned due to several reasons.
