Dera Bugti water supply restored

By Our Correspondent

RAJANPUR, Jan 26: Water supply to Sui and Dera Bugti has been restored while electricity is expected to be resumed within next two days.

The water supply lines, from Kashmor to Dera Bugti, were damaged allegedly by the Mazaris. Similarly, wire from the Guddu-Sui transmission line was removed, also by the Mazaris, on Jan 14. Since then Dera bugti has been without electricity.

SHELLING: Despite the deployment of Punjab police, Border Military Police, Frontiers Core and Bhambhore Rifles, the exchange of fire between the Mazaris and the Bugtis is continuing.

On Saturday night, the Bugtis fired some missiles on Mazari Goth which caused damage to four houses. However, no casualty was reported. The Mazaris retaliated with Kalashnikov fire.

The Mazaris have taken shelter in ditches in plane areas while the Bugtis are targeting them from the mountains.

The Rajanpur DPO and DCO are supervising the protective force deputed in the area. An ambulance has also been arranged to meet any emergency. A police post with two ASIs and several constables has been set up at Mazari Goth on the Sui Road to check the activities of the criminals.
