KARACHI: BCom paper on Monday


KARACHI, Jan 24: The University of Karachi on Friday announced that BCom (part 1) paper IV of the Principles of Accounting for external candidates who want to reappear would be held on Jan 27 from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.

The examination centre for candidates from seat Nos 90001 to 93315 would be the Department of Mathematics while for those with seat Nos 96001 to 99947 the centre would be the Department of Geography.

MPHIL PROGRAMME: KU Vice-Chancellor Dr Zafar Saied Saify has authorized the Faculty of Pharmacy to start MPhil programme. Last date for submission of admission forms is Feb 5, while fee could be submitted up to Feb 18; classes would begin on March 1 and the exams would be held between July 14 and 22.

NEW MAGAZINE: The Business Administration Students’ Society has arranged a launching ceremony for their yearly magazine — Vistas — in a local hotel on Jan 26 at 4pm.

The vice-chancellor of the University of Karachi would preside over the programme.

WORKSHOP: The Area Study Centre for Europe, KU, will hold a workshop on Feb 2 at 10am on “Political and Economic Effects of Euro in Market”.

Zaidi trust: A trust has been established in memory of Prof Dr Zafar H. Zaidi, a former vice-chancellor of the University of Karachi.

The Zafar H. Zaidi Memorial Trust has been set up by his students and colleagues to recognise his commendable efforts in the field of science and technology.

The Trust aimed at providing financial assistance to educational institutions, groups and individuals to eradicate illiteracy and raise standard of education.

It would also provide scholarships to the students pursuing MPhil/PhD programmes preferably in the area of protein chemistry and promote research and scientific culture through organizing conference, workshops and symposia, etc.

IJT book fair: People from different walks of life attended the concluding ceremony of a three-day book fair organized by the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) at the University of Karachi on Friday.

PPP leader Prof N.D Khan, Dr. Manzooruddin, Dr Sahar Ansari, Prof Shakeel Siddiqui and Prof Shafiqur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.—APP/PPI
