KARACHI, Jan 21: The government must take the opposition legislators into confidence regarding development works in their respective constituencies.

Talking to Dawn on Tuesday, MNA Nabil Gabol regretted that no development funds had been released to opposition legislators.

He said: “We have been elected by the people to solve their problems and these could not be solved without the support of the government.”

He was of the view that the government must also give due importance to the opposition and take them into confidence while preparing uplift projects of their areas.

The PPP leader said while development works were under way in many parts of Karachi city, no such activity was witnessed in Lyari.

He said during his visit to various parts of Lyari, he found that roads were in a poor condition and sewerage system had collapsed.

He urged the government to sanction special funds for road repairs and for overhauling the collapsed sewerage system in Lyari.
