LAHORE, Jan 18: Five PPP candidates submitted nomination papers for the Senate polls to the provincial election commissioner on Saturday.

Sardar Latif Khan Khosa advocate, former finance minister Ehsanul Haq Piracha and Sajjad Bukhari filed papers against general seats. Sajida Mir filed papers against women’s reserved seats quota while Akbar Khwaja applied for the technocrats’ seat.

Former law minister S.M Masood and Dr Nisar filed papers as the covering candidates.

The papers were received by the provincial election commissioner Rahim Nawaz Khan Durrani who asked all the candidates to appear in person on Jan 25, when their nomination papers would be scrutinised by him.
