KARACHI, Jan 13: Certain bureaucrats are busy in hatching conspiracies to destroy the good relationship between the doctors and the authorities, claimed the Pakistan Medical Association on Monday.

In a press release the association expressed concern over the continued suspension of Punjab University’s faculty. It also slammed the suspension of the association’s past president, Prof Yasmin Rashid of the Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore.

The association’s press release said that despite an announcement of Punjab’s chief minister, Pervaiz Elahi, the provincial government had not withdrawn the suspension orders issued to the teaching staff.

The press release pointed out that Dr Azeemuddin Zahid, the general secretary of the Lahore PMA, and Dr Ashraf Nizami, the Punjab’s PMA general secretary had also not been reinstated despite assurances given by the CM.

“It’s time negotiations were started to solve the problems faced by hospitals in Punjab. Students and patients shouldn’t suffer because of manipulations in Punjab’s health department,” added the handout.
