TORONTO, Jan 9: Authorities in British Columbia assigned two special investigating teams on Wednesday to probe the mysterious slaying of a prominent Canadian Muslim leader in Surrey, near Vancouver.

The police have been making efforts to ascertain the motive and killers of Riasat Ali Khan, but have failed to get any clue so far.

Riasat Khan’s family has posted a 50,000 dollar reward to help catch those responsible.

The 69-year-old Pakistani Canadian was killed on Sunday after assailants pumped bullets into his body while he was coming out of his car in front of his home.

A police spokesman said on Thursday that police were ruling nothing out, but added that the motive for the killing remained a mystery.

He said investigators were working on leads about a truck with tinted windows that was spotted leaving the area.
