KARACHI: 21 vehicles hijacked

KARACHI, Jan 8: Bandits hijacked 21 vehicles — 8 cars and 13 motorcycles — from various areas of the city on Wednesday.

Five cars were snatched at gunpoint and three were stolen, whereas seven motorcycles were hijacked and six were stolen.

Police claimed recovery of six vehicles on Wednesday.

INJURED:A young man suffered serious burns during self- immolation bid at his house in Gulbahar early Wednesday morning.

Police said that Babar son of Tariq attempted the self- immolation at his home in Husainabad, Hasan Colony.

The police said that the victim was jobless and had became a drug addict.

A day earlier his wife had also left him along with his three children. He was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, from where he was referred to the Civil Hospital. Hospital sources said that the victim had suffered 80 per cent burns.
