Nine men injured in clash

SHIKARPUR, Jan 6: Nine persons were injured in an exchange of fire between Jatoi and Mehar tribesmen in the jurisdiction of the Lakhi police station on Monday.

Bakhshal Mehar, Riaz Mehar, Bagoo Mehar, Ghulam Ali Mehar, Ghazi Mehar, Abdul Wahab Mehar, Mohammad Paryal Mehar, Riaz Jatoi and Siyani were injured in the clash.

The injured were taken to Lakhi and Shikarpur hospitals. Two of the injured, Bakhshal Mehar and Riaz Mehar, were referred to the Larkana Civil Hospital because of their serious condition.

FIVE ARRESTED: The Rustam police raided an Autaq in the Rustam town and arrested five persons on Monday.

Those arrested were identified as Shabbir Mehar, Sohail Mehar, Mohammad Ali Shaikh, Abdul Raheem and Mirza Mehar. Two stolen Datsun pickups and one G3 rifle were also recovered from their possession.
