Army and Police clash for trophy

ISLAMABAD, Jan 3: Army stayed on track for the defence of their crown as they knocked out Wapda 3-0 to set up a clash with Police in Saturday’s final of the 38th National Volleyball Championship.

In the semifinals played Friday, Army were comfortable winners taking the match 25-19, 25-23, 25-22 with Bakht Risal, Zafar, Sakhi, Elahi and Naeem putting up a fine show.

Police on the other hand faced a tough challenge from POF but survived to score a 25-23, 25-21, 25-21 victory in the second semifinal before a big crowd at the Gymnasium in Wah. Kashif, Tufail, Tipu, Mazhar and Zaman excelled for Police while Ehsan, Saadi, Sajjad, Nasir and Tariq shone for the losers.
