Liability to be determined on declared income: FTO
ISLAMABAD, Jan 3: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO), Justice Saleem Akhtar (retired), has asked the tax officials to work out tax liability on the income declared by a compliant.
The ombudsman observed that the complainant’s tax liability be worked out on the basis of income declared at Rs49,800 in the return and refund should be determined and paid promptly.
According to the FTO judgment issued here on Friday, tax liability of partners on the basis of their returns should be worked out to determine the final liability/refund.
