KOHAT, Jan 3: The executive officer of the Kohat Cantonment Board has terminated the services of 11 employees of grade four due to budgetary constraints under the downsizing programme.
All these employees, having more or less than 13 years’ service to their credit, were served with a one-month notice and asked to discontinue work as gardeners, watermen and watchmen as their services were no more required by the department.
The affected employees in a press release issued here on Friday said that they had no other sources of income and at this age they could not find any other job and as such they should be reinstated to save their families from starvation.
They also said that the KCB was considering relieving 19 more employees of grade four in the next few months.
