SUKKUR, Dec 29: Two men were killed and 10 were injured in an armed clash between Jagirani and Chachar tribesmen in Kutcho Bindi area, Ghotki district on Sunday.

Ather Jagirani and Farid Chachar were killed when the Jagiranis attacked the Chachars.

The Chachars also retaliated and the gun battle continued for two hours.

As a result ten people — Nooral, Mengal, Kashmir, and two others of Jagirani tribe and five of Chachar tribe — were injured.

The clash has created panic in the area and the police have failed to control the situation.

Six men of both the groups were killed in firing and dozens were injured last week, but no arrest was made.

The two tribes are at war for a long time.

Protest: Hundreds of people blocked the road for several hours and observed strike in Bahoo Khoso and Thul, Jacobabad district on Sunday against kidnapping of Misripur union council Nazim Ahmad Ali Khoso.

The protestors burnt tyres and pelted stones at vehicular traffic.

On Saturday night, the Nazim, with Sohrab Sarki, Waheed Murad Sarki, Arsala Khoso, Qamaruddin, Inayat Khoso and Miral Khoso, was returning from Balochistan after negotiating with the outlaws for the release of Mohib Khoso, who was kidnapped a month and a half back.

Nine outlaws, riding on three motorcycles, intercepted their car near Bahoo Khoso and took them away.

Later, the outlaws released all the hostages, except the Nazim.
