OKARA, Dec 28: The Anjuman-i-Mazareen on Saturday alleged that law enforcing agencies arrested two tenants Miraj Din and Hafeez when there were on their way to the city.

AMP president Ghani Javaid said they had been arrested to get their signatures on the agreement forms. However, Cantonment police did not acknowledge their arrest. Mild tension is prevailing in Chaks 4/4-L, 43/3-R and 45/3-R over the arrest of the tenants.

SHOT DEAD: A man shot dead his cousin and injured his aunt on Saturday for working as labourers in the fields at Dholi Kitchi, some 25 kms from here.

Zafar Iqbal of Faisalabad was residing in the house of his uncle Muhammad Aslam. He was against the working of women as labourers.

He barred his aunt Naziran Bibi and her daughter Farzana from doing work, but they were too poor to yield his request.

On Saturday, Iqbal came to the house of his uncle and fired at them, killing Farzana instantly and injuring Naziran seriously.

Gogera police have registered a case.
