PML-Q bloc in NALC on cards

GILGIT, Dec 22: With the formation of PML-Q government in the Centre, a political bloc of PML-Q in the Northern Areas Legislative Council is in the offing, Shehzad Tallat, a spokesman for the party’s Northern Areas chapter claimed.

He said that though there was not a single member of the PML-Q in the council, eight members, including some independent and disgruntled ones, had assured them of their support to form the PML-Q bloc in the council.

Mr Tallat said that in order to muster support of the NALC members for formation of PML-Q in the council, their party chief Abdul Wahid had already proceeded to Islamabad, where he would discuss the matter with senior leaders of the party.

He said that Mr Wahid would also call upon Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali to share “important political developments” in the region and their central secretariat would issue a fresh notification of the PML-Q cabinet in a couple of days.

Mr Tallat said that Mr Wahid would also discuss issues such as the region’s constitutional status and growing joblessness among the educated youth.
