KARACHI: Police stations to have libraries


KARACHI, Dec 17: The city government has decided to set up libraries in all police stations from Dec 18 in order to enhance religious knowledge and perception of police officials.

The Dawah libraries, initially having about 200 books each, would be established by the cooperation of Quran-o-Sunnat Academy, the city government and the Dawah Academy, International Islamic University, Islamabad.

The subjects would vary from religious knowledge, Islamic history, Islamic culture and heritage to justice system of Islam, Islamic system of governance, etc.

The first ceremony in this regard would be held on Dec 18 in Nazimabad police station. City Nazim Naimatullah Khan, inspector-general of police Syed Kamal Shah, director-general Dawah Academy Dr Khalid Alvi, and others will speak.—PPI
